Teacher Quality Information
Teacher Quality Committees were established by the Iowa Legislature in 2007 by Section 284.4 of the Iowa Code. The Department of Education, Iowa Association of School Boards, Iowa State Education Association and SAI have jointly developed resource materials for use by these committees. The goal is to help committees become more effective in meeting the expectations of Section 284 as well as local needs. The use of these materials is not required; they are provided as a resource.
An additional resource is consultation with the DE. If you have unresolved issues after consulting with the DE, ISEA and SAI have pledged to work with local TQCs to solve problems.
