General Description: The Executive Administrative Assistant supports the Executive Director and the Director of Leadership Development in their work for SAI. S/he must be a person who acts from SAI's vision that every member will feel valued as a professional and inspired to be a leader of learners and SAI's mission to develop, support and encourage Iowa's leaders and learners. As a member of the SAI staff s/he must be a team-oriented individual who is committed to the professional goals of the association and to his/her fellow team members' professional success.
Primary Responsibilities:
I. Enhance member skills as leaders of learning.
a. Record and distribute minutes for Executive Committee and Rep. Council meetings.
b. Perform other duties as assigned.
II. Support efforts to recruit and retain quality administrators into the field of school administration.
a. Assist with Governance member updates in a variety of ways.
b. Perform other duties as assigned.
III. Advocate for SAI members and the welfare of Iowa’s learners.
a. Participate fully as a member of the SAI team to promote a culture of excellence.
b. Actively seek to grow as a professional in development of relevant skills, knowledge and dispositions.
c. Perform other duties as assigned.
IV. Operate an efficient and effective professional association.
a. Perform administrative duties for the Executive Director.
b. Perform administrative duties for the Director of Leadership Development.
c. Provide support for the IPERS Representative.
d. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Excellent human relations, oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills, including word processing, flyer construction, databases, spreadsheets, email, PowerPoint, etc.
- Ability to work in an environment with multiple interruptions.
- Ethic of caring and focus on member service.
- Demonstrated ability to honor confidentiality.
- High level of organizational skills, accuracy in work and detail, meticulous work-style.
Education and Experience:
- Post secondary training in skill-related areas.
- Demonstrated success in previous work experiences with relevant skills.
Evaluation:
The Executive Administrative Assistant will report directly to and be evaluated annually by the Executive Director, according to SAI policy and procedures.
