Iowa Leadership Academy
The Iowa Leadership Academy provides quality professional development for practicing Iowa superintendents and principals. The ILA has two components:
- Principals Center - Principals attend a summer institute and apply new learning to their school's context as they create and implement an Individual Administrator Professional Development Plan.
- Superintendents' Networks - Superintendents focus on teaching and learning through networks hosted by their Area Education Agency. Networks are based on an instructional rounds process.
The ILA is funded by an Iowa Department of Education leadership grant from The Wallace Foundation. Additional support is provided by School Administrators of Iowa and the statewide system of Area Education Agencies.
