Coaching at the Core for Principals

Principals' roles are demanding greater instructional leadership skills. To meet these expectations, a program — Coaching at the Core — has been developed to provide 400 school leaders with the necessary supports to work with teacher learning teams in the use of formative data for instructional decision making. The desired result is that teachers will be equipped to more effectively meet each and every students' learning needs linked to the Iowa Core.

Funding for the program has not yet been secured; however, participants are being sought to position them to be able to receive coaching beginning in the 2013-14 school year.
