Iowa Principals and SAMs Advance their Work that's Recommended to the LegislatureDecember 3, 2012 by Tracy Harms  National SAM Innovation Project Director Mark ShellingerSchool Administration Managers and principals met Nov. 30 for the Annual SAMs Conference to receive national updates, hear about the executive coaching proposal and its ties to SAMs, listen to presentations from Iowa SAMs/principal teams, and develop action steps based on what was learned during the day.
Role-specific breakouts presented principals with feedback and protocols based on The Practice of Authentic PLCs by Daniel Venables, and SAMs focused on Fierce Conversations and ideas from The Energy Bus by Jon Gordon.
The Cedar Rapids Gazette December 2 edition featured this editorial suggesting the Legislature should again consider supporting the SAMs program.
