North Scott Superintendent elected SAI vice president
April 20, 2022 Joe Stutting, superintendent of North Scott Community School District, has been elected as the 2022-23 vice president of School Administrators of Iowa. Responsibilities of the association’s Executive Committee officers include actively promoting and delivering on SAI’s mission of developing Iowa’s educational leaders and learners. Stutting and other elected SAI governance members will begin their terms September 1. “Congratulations to Joe Stutting for being selected by his peers to be SAI’s next vice president. Joe’s experience and accomplishments as a school leader at all levels will be a tremendous benefit to the organization and will help us continue to provide excellent service to SAI members,” said SAI Executive Director Roark Horn. “I am excited about the opportunity to work with SAI and all my fellow administrators in improving education for our students in Iowa,” said Stutting. Stutting has served on the association’s Legislative Committee, as a mentor to beginning superintendents, and provided input on the development of Iowa’s Standards for School Leaders. North Scott superintendent since 2014, his career in education began as a history, physical education and applied technology teacher at Southern Cal School District. Stutting earned a bachelor’s degree in history with a minor in physical education from Central College, a master’s in secondary administration from Drake University and a specialist’s degree in educational administration from University of Wisconsin Superior.
