Pushing Boundaries for Common Experiences: SAI Redistricting
August 15, 2014 As AEA mergers have taken place, school administrators are regularly congregating with peers representing a broader geographic area. As of September 1, SAI districts will mirror current AEA regions rather than be divided by the original AEA boundaries. Thus, the number of SAI districts will be reduced from 15 to nine with members of the Representative Council coming from each of the merged areas. The SAI districts will take on the same names as those of their AEAs, e.g., SAI Districts 4 and 12 will become the Northwest District. The 34-member Rep Council will continue to provide representation to the respective areas, and you are encouraged to attend district meetings with your peers from the school districts in your local AEA.
