Event Details

This workshop introduces school leaders to Generative AI (GenAI) — a transformative technology that is poised to change teaching and learning. This workshop goes beyond theory, offering hands-on experience with AI tools, and their application in innovative and engaging planning and teaching methods. Participants will also dive into the ethical implications of GenAI and best practices for building AI guidance.

The objectives for this professional development are that participants will:

  • Gain a shared understanding of what GenAI is, how it works, the technologies capabilities and limitations, and how the tools are set to impact the classroom and school community
  • Know how to effectively prompt engineer with ChatGPT and Google Gemini to be able to apply these tools to their own practice
  • Be GenAI literate to be able to increase their productivity and equip them to guide policy, student achievement, and innovation
  • Understand the ethical implications of GenAI and how to adopt the tools responsibly across the school community
  • Review key strategies for the adoption of GenAI across their school community including tool identification, developing GenAI guidance, and building GenAI literacy

The presenter will briefly review content from her workshop in November with the remaining focus on new content and ideas. You do not need to have attended in November to participate in this workshop. If you attended in November and are interested in attending this event, please note there will be some overlap.
