Executive Committee
What is the Executive Committee?
- The Executive Committee is the administrative body of the School Administrators of Iowa (SAI).
- It oversees the daily operations of SAI and its staff.
- The Committee is responsible for evaluating the executive director and determining staff employment terms and conditions. They are also the fiduciary body overseeing SAI’s investments.
- The Committee holds monthly meetings from September to June, with some meetings conducted virtually.
Who Serves on the Executive Committee?
- The Executive Committee comprises seven SAI members.
- It includes four elected state officers: the president, president-elect, vice president, and past-president.
- Three representatives from the Representative Council also serve:
- One elementary principal.
- One secondary principal.
- One general administrator.
These three representatives are selected by their peers within the Representative Council.
How are SAI members elected to the Executive Committee?
- SAI members directly elect the vice president.
- The elected vice president serves a four-year term, progressing through the roles of president-elect, president, and then past-president.
- The Representative Council selects the three administrator representatives (elementary, secondary, and general) from among its own members.
