NAESP State Representative
Principals who have primary supervisory responsibilities for any combination of grades PK-8 and are members of SAI and NAESP are eligible to run for NAESP State Representative.
Term
The current term of office is July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2025. The upcoming term of office is July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2028. The position provides a link between the respective national organization and SAI regarding mutual goals and issues of concern.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities are to fulfill duties mandated by the NAESP bylaws; policy, affiliation agreements, or Delegate Assembly rules and procedures the respective board recommends; and SAI Rep. Council, in collaboration with SAI’s Executive Committee and executive director as an SAI liaison.
2025 Application Process
If you are interested in serving, please email Lisa Remy a PDF with the following information (up to two pages) by Friday, Jan. 24, 2025:
- A brief summary of your educational background.
- A brief outline of your professional career.
- A listing of awards/honors you may have earned while serving in K-12 education.
- A listing of your involvement with SAI and NAESP (e.g., committees, offices held, etc.)
- A brief statement as to why you want to serve in this office.
- A brief statement as to why you should be selected for this office.
- A signed statement from your superintendent that you may serve in this office if selected.
Elementary Principals on the Representative Council will narrow the list to two individuals at its February 2025 meeting. If there are not enough candidates to narrow to two, then the list will be sent directly to the Executive Committee at the February meeting. The Executive Committee will select the representative at its March 2025 meeting if the Representative Council needs to narrow the list down to two candidates. The new representative will then have a few months to work with the current representative prior to taking over responsibilities.
NASSP State Coordinator

Term
The current state coordinator's term will end in June, 2026. The election for a replacement will occur in Spring 2026 and will be from July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2029. The position provides a link between the respective national organization and SAI regarding mutual goals and issues of concern.
