Leadership-Life Fit — Take Account
Fuel your energy by accounting for your blessings.
Rushing from one event to another, whether it be a graduation ceremony, board meeting, chamber event, staff retirement celebration, or your own family’s activities can drain your energy. Refueling periodically throughout the day helps you bring your best self to the many engagements on your calendar.
One of the easiest ways to feed your energy is to stop in the midst of the whirlwind to take account of the many blessings in your life. This week, plan to set several daily alarms on your phone — one every couple of hours. Each time one signals you, excuse yourself from whatever it is that you’re doing, and take a moment to identify at least three blessings in your life. Write them down, call them to mind, pull up photos. The way in which you give attention to them doesn’t matter…it’s taking the moment.
The little things lead to big impact. Take one to two minutes three to four times a day to reflect on the good things in life!
